Day-by-Day Itinerary

01

Transfer from Kampala to Sipi Falls

Your driver picks you up from the agreed location in Kampala or Entebbe and starts the journey east. Spend a little time at Sezibwa Falls to see the Kabaka trail, with another stopover in Jinja town, known for its marvelous attractions including the source of the Nile. Enjoy lunch en route in Jinja town, then proceed to Kapchorwa.

Accommodation: Lacaam Lodge
02

A Visit to Sipi Falls and Nyero Rock Paintings

Rise early, enjoy breakfast at the lodge or hotel restaurant, and head out for a walk through coffee plantations before hiking to the beautiful Sipi Falls. Your guide will get you to the best spots for photography of all three waterfalls. Back at the lodge, restaurant staff serve lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Nyero Rock Paintings to see the art of the people said to have lived in this area before 1250 CE, then drive to Soroti town to relax at your lodge or hotel.

Travel from Soroti to Kidepo Valley National Park

Most days on an African safari start early (6:00am or earlier). After breakfast, check out and start the transfer to the rugged jungle (you may fit in an activity such as rock climbing before departure). Enjoy lunch en route, followed by a short evening game drive — a great opportunity to watch the sunset. Animals commonly seen on the plains include buffaloes, zebras, elands, duikers and Uganda kobs, while Kidepo National Park is also home to predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas.

Accommodation: Apoka Safari Lodge
04

Morning Game Drive and Community Visit

Wake early, enjoy breakfast, and set out through different tracks in the park for the day's wildlife sightings; the game drive typically ends around 10:30am. Return to the lodge to relax before an afternoon visit to the Karamoja communities. The Karamojong are one of Uganda's tribes with a unique and well-preserved culture and social life, while the Ik — who live high on the Morungole Mountains — are a small, fascinating ethnic group of about 10,000 people. Interacting with these communities offers valuable insight into their way of life.

From Kidepo Valley National Park to Kampala

The final day is spent on the highway back to Kampala, starting early due to the long distance ahead — about 410 kilometers. After breakfast, check out and drive through towns such as Gulu, with a brief stopover at scenic spots like Karuma Falls.
